Villedaigne is a small commune in the Aude department in southern France, in the Occitania region. It is about 15 kilometers (around 9 miles) from Narbonne. The village sits on the left bank of the Orbieu River, which forms its eastern border.
The commune covers about 12.5 square kilometers and had 599 residents in 2023, giving a population density of around 241 people per square kilometer.
The mayor for 2023–2026 is Sylvain Maillard. Villedaigne is part of the Grand Narbonne intercommunality. The elevation ranges from 19 to 36 meters above sea level.
In history, not far from Villedaigne, William of Gellone fought a battle against a Cordoban Muslim army led by Abd al-Malik ibn Abd al-Wahid ibn Mughith as he approached Carcassonne; the expedition did not advance deeper into Carolingian lands.
The Occitan name for Villedaigne is Viladanha.
