Vermenagna
The Vermenagna is a 27.1-kilometre-long river in Piedmont, northwestern Italy. It rises high on the northern side of the Colle di Tenda in the Maritime Alps, near Rocca dell'Abisso. From there it flows through Limone Piemonte and Vernante, receiving its main left-bank tributary, the rio di Valle Grande, from the Palanfrè valley. The river continues through Robilante and Roccavione and ends where it joins the Gesso near the border between Roccavione and Borgo San Dalmazzo, at about 610 metres above sea level. The Vermenagna helps separate the Maritime Alps from the Ligurian Alps and is part of the Gesso river system in the Po basin. Its basin area is about 166 square kilometres, and its average discharge near Borgo San Dalmazzo is about 4.5 cubic metres per second.
