Japan Confederation of Shipbuilding and Engineering Workers' Unions
Japan Confederation of Shipbuilding and Engineering Workers' Unions (Zosenjukiroren) was a Japanese trade union for manufacturing workers. It was founded in 1972, at the initiative of the General Federation of Ship Building Workers' Unions. It began with 74 company unions and belonged to the Japanese Confederation of Labour. By 1987 it had about 127,000 members and joined the new Japanese Trade Union Confederation. In 2003, it merged with the Japanese Federation of Iron and Steel Workers' Unions and the Japanese Metal Mine Workers' Union to form the Japan Federation of Basic Industry Workers' Unions. The union no longer exists as an independent body.
