Vakin Loabin
Vakin Loabin is a 2018 Maldivian family drama directed by Ali Shifau. It was produced by Mohamed Ali and Aishath Fuad Thaufeeq for Dark Rain Entertainment. The film stars Mohamed Jumayyil, Mariyam Majudha, and Nuzuhath Shuaib. It tells the story of a young couple's divorce and how it affects their families and friends. Filming took place from August 7 to November 2017, and the movie was released on March 5, 2018. Vakin Loabin opened to a positive box office response and earned praise for its character development and restrained storytelling. In March 2018, producer Mohamed Ali announced plans for a sequel, with the original characters returning for a possible release in 2020.
