Mount Aopinie, or Mont Aoupinié in French, is a mountain in central New Caledonia that rises to about 1,000 metres (3,300 feet). The source of the Poya River lies to the southwest, and the area is densely forested. The mountain is inside the Réserve de Faune de l’Aoupinié, a wildlife reserve that covers the mountain and surrounding land along the border of the Poya and Ponérihouen municipalities. Species named after the place include the spiders Bradystichus aoupinie and Orstom aoupinie, and the moth genus Aoupinieta. At the summit, type specimens of the lizard Nannoscincus rankini and the flatworm Pimea monticola were collected. Nearby town: Gohapin. Coordinates: 21°10′44″S 165°16′0″E.
