Troy Johnson is an American singer known for gospel and soul. He began his career in 1984 with a track on the Blame It on Rio soundtrack and signed with Motown Records, where he released his first album. His 1986 single "It's You" reached No. 65 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart. After a religious conversion, he started focusing on gospel music. He paused his career in the late 1990s to devote himself to spirituality, then returned with his own label, SA Entertainment. On that label he released a secular album featuring a new version of "It's You," which reached No. 40 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart in 2005.
