Uzen oil field
Uzen oil field is an onshore oil field in Mangystau Province, Kazakhstan, located at 43°41′19″N 51°18′17″E. It was discovered in 1961 and developed by KazMunayGas, which also operates the field. Development began in 1961 and production started in 1965. Today, Uzen produces about 100,000 barrels of oil per day (about 5 million tonnes per year). The estimated oil in place is about 201 million tonnes (roughly 240 million cubic meters), equal to around 1.5 billion barrels of oil.
