Uzbekistan at the 2024 Summer Olympics

Uzbekistan competed in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, held from 26 July to 11 August 2024. The country sent 85 athletes (54 men and 31 women) who took part in 16 sports. The opening ceremony flag bearers were Abdumalik Khalokov and Zaynab Dayibekova, and Ulugbek Rashitov was the flag bearer at the closing ceremony.

Uzbekistan finished with 8 golds, 2 silvers, and 3 bronzes, for a total of 13 medals and a 13th-place ranking. This was the country’s best gold-medal haul at the Summer Games and tied its all-time best total medal count of 13 (achieved in 2016 also). It was also the highest number of gold medals won by a former Soviet country in these Games, since Russia and Belarus were banned.

The team competed across 16 sports, including archery, athletics, boxing, canoeing, road cycling, diving (Uzbekistan’s debut in this sport), fencing, football, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, judo, modern pentathlon, rowing, weightlifting, and wrestling. Among the competitors were Tokyo 2020 gold medalists Ulugbek Rashitov and Svetlana Osipova, who qualified for Paris based on rankings and qualification events. This marked Uzbekistan’s eighth consecutive Summer Games appearance since gaining independence.
