Uri frank
Uri frank was the currency used in the Swiss canton of Uri from 1798 to 1850. It was divided into 10 Batzen, and each Batzen was worth 10 Rappen (so 1 Uri Frank = 100 Rappen). The Frank was worth a quarter of a French écu, about 6.67 g of fine silver. It was the currency of the Helvetian Republic from 1798, which stopped issuing coins in 1803. Uri began issuing its own coins in 1811. In 1850, Switzerland introduced the Swiss franc, with 1 Uri Frank equal to 1.4597 Swiss francs. Coins were issued in billon for 1 Rappen, 1/2 Batzen, and 1 Batzen, with silver coins for 2 and 4 Batzen.
