Urasoe Anzō
Urasoe Anzō (also Kohatsu Ueekata Anzō; Chinese name Mō Bunwa) was a Ryukyu Kingdom official who held the rank of Ueekata and served on the Sanshikan, the king’s senior council, from 1755 to 1759. In 1752, after King Shō Boku’s accession, he helped lead a gratitude envoy to Edo, Japan. Anzō served as the main envoy (seishi) and Prince Nakijin Chōchū as the deputy envoy (fukushi); they returned home the following year. Anzō died on 12 November 1759; his birth date is unknown.
