United Nations Security Council Resolution 607
UN Security Council Resolution 607 was adopted unanimously on January 5, 1988. It followed Resolution 605 (1987) and noted Israel’s decision to continue deporting Palestinians in the occupied territories. The Council reaffirmed that the Fourth Geneva Convention protects civilians in war and urged Israel to stop the deportations and to respect the Convention’s obligations. It also decided to keep the situation under review.
