Unisys OS 2200 distributed processing
OS 2200 supports a wide range of distributed processing standards, APIs, and development tools. It is built on the X/Open Distributed Transaction Processing (DTP) model, with full XA API support, including two‑phase commit, across its transaction middleware, database managers, and clustering. J2EE is also fully supported, using the system’s XA capabilities while offering the J2EE APIs and protocols. Messaging systems like IBM WebSphere MQ (MQSeries) and MSMQ are integrated, leveraging XA and built‑in recovery features. Data on OS 2200 can be accessed from almost any platform, and OS 2200 applications can access data on other platforms as well. Applications often mix languages and middleware to create composite solutions that fit business needs and partner integrations. Unisys supports the X/Open DTP model (Open DTP, also implemented in Tuxedo) and J2EE, and they interoperate with the rest of the system. Two‑phase commit is supported in the database managers, including in clustered environments, and there are connectors to other distributed transaction processing environments.
