The Boys Won’t Leave the Girls Alone is a 1962 studio album by The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. It mostly features traditional Irish folk songs, with a few tunes from other countries, such as the Scottish song Marie’s Wedding. It was their third release for Columbia Records and their first studio album for the label. The title comes from the song I’ll Tell My Ma.

The album runs about 33 minutes and was recorded in New York in April, June, and July 1962. It received positive notices, with Variety praising the group’s energy and the lively listening experience. Billboard named it a “New Action LP” in 1963, noting strong sales action in major markets.

In 1963, the music was released as two EPs: The Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem No. 1 and No. 2. The Boys Won’t Leave the Girls Alone was reissued in the United Kingdom in 1984 and in the United States in 1987, and a CD came out in 1993. It became available as an mp3 in the United Kingdom in January 2013, and a US digital release called O’Donahue included the entire album with the tracks in a different order. All the songs on the album are traditional unless noted otherwise, and the complete set was later issued on The Clancy Brothers Collection 1956-1962 in 2013, which also covered material from the group’s other Columbia and Tradition Records albums.
