Uel Walter Lamkin (January 18, 1877 – September 16, 1956) was the president of Northwest Missouri State University from 1921 to 1945.

Lamkin was born in California, Missouri, and grew up in Clinton, where his father ran a private academy. He studied at the University of Missouri but did not earn a degree. He worked as a teacher in Clinton and held several education roles in Missouri, including Henry County school superintendent, president of the Missouri Teachers Association (1912–1913), Missouri education inspector, Missouri superintendent of schools (1916–1918), and president of the National Education Association (1928–1929).

During his presidency at Northwest Missouri State University, Bearcat Arena was named Lamkin Gymnasium for many years. Today, the arena is part of the Lamkin Activity Center, which also includes Martindale Gym.

Lamkin died on September 16, 1956, and is buried in Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri.
