Twentieth Century Steam Riding Gallery No. 409
Twentieth Century Steam Riding Gallery No. 409, also known as Schenevus Carousel, is a historic carousel on Race Street in Schenevus, Otsego County, New York. Built in 1908 by the Herschell-Spillman Co., it sits in a wooden, 16‑sided pavilion with a wooden roof covered in asphalt shingles. The ride features 24 horses, four chariots, and 16 folding benches. This steam riding gallery, where the horses rock back and forth instead of moving up and down, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was added to the register in 1998.
