Bruceville is a small town in Washington Township, Knox County, Indiana. It covers about 0.34 square miles of land and had about 450 residents in 2020.

Climate and location: The area experiences hot, humid summers and mild to cool winters, typical of a humid subtropical climate.

History: The town is named after the Bruce family. William Bruce settled there in 1805 and led local volunteers in Tecumseh’s War in 1811. The streets were laid out in 1829. Abraham Lincoln spoke in Bruceville in October 1844 in support of Henry Clay.

Population and community: In 2010, 478 people lived in 193 households. The town was mainly White, with a mix of other races, and the median age was around 35 years. Bruceville is part of the North Knox School Corporation.
