Tukaka Ama
Tukaka George Tamarua Ama, known as Tukaka “Kaka” Ama, is a Cook Islands politician and member of Parliament for Ngatangiia. He is a member of the Cook Islands Party and has been the MP since 1 August 2022, taking the seat from Tamaiva Tuavera. Ama is from Ngatangiia on Rarotonga and is the brother of MP Akaiti Puna. Before politics, he worked as a public servant for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration. He first ran for parliament in 2018 but lost to Tamaiva Tuavera. He ran again in 2022 and won, campaigning for higher wages and lower interest rates.
