Trionychinae

Trionychinae are a subfamily of softshell turtles in the family Trionychidae. They first appeared in the Late Cretaceous and are still around today (about 91 to 0 million years ago). Described by Gray in 1825, the subfamily includes 11 living genera. One well-known member is Pelodiscus, the genus that includes the Chinese softshell turtle (Pelodiscus sinensis).
