Treaty of Namysłów
The Treaty of Namysłów, also called the Peace of Namysłów, was a peace treaty between Poland and Bohemia. It was signed at Namysłów in Silesia on November 22, 1348, after the Polish–Bohemian War of 1345–1348.
For many years, the many duchies of Silesia were disputed between Poland and Bohemia. When Charles IV of Bohemia became king of the Romans in 1346, Casimir III of Poland decided to seek peace.
The treaty confirmed earlier arrangements and stated that:
- Casimir III renounced all Polish claims on Silesia.
- Charles IV waived all Bohemian claims on the Polish throne.
After the death of Bolko II in 1368, all of Silesia remained under the Bohemian Crown.
