Torneio Touchdown
Torneio Touchdown is a Brazilian American football league formed in 2008 with teams from several states. The league was organized by Flavio "Skin" Cardia of Fluminense Imperadores and Mario Lewandowski of the São Paulo Storm, who led the Steering Committee. The project was publicly unveiled in April 2009 at AFAB Tournament Selections, with ten teams signing up and eight stating they could participate in 2009.
In 2010, many teams left the league to form the Liga Brasileira de Futebol Americano (LBFA) due to differences with commissioner Andrew Joseph Adler, who held the rights to the Torneio Touchdown name. In 2013, some teams returned, increasing participation to 20 teams—the highest since the league began.
