Tibidabo Funicular
The Tibidabo Funicular is a short railway in Barcelona that climbs from Plaça del Doctor Andreu to the top of Tibidabo, where you’ll find an amusement park and the Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor. The line is 1,130 meters long and opened on 29 October 1901. It’s one of three funiculars in the city, along with Vallvidrera and Montjuïc. After upgrades began in 2019, new trains called “La Cuca de llum” entered service in June 2021. The funicular connects with the Tramvia Blau and a bus service to Avinguda Tibidabo metro station, but fares aren’t part of Barcelona’s main ATM network; tickets must be bought at the stations. The route currently uses two-car trains to carry passengers up to the Tibidabo summit.
