Quinton George Porter (born December 28, 1982) is a former American gridiron football quarterback who played in college, the NFL, NFL Europe, and the Canadian Football League (CFL). He grew up in Portland, Maine, where he starred at Portland High School and earned Maine’s top high school athlete honors in 2000.

College career
Porter attended Boston College. He was a backup in 2001–2002, then became the starting quarterback in 2003 for most of the season after a hand injury. He redshirted in 2004 and returned as the starter in 2005. That year he earned Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Week honors after a win over Virginia, and BC was highly ranked before a quarterback controversy arose when Matt Ryan took over later in the season. In February 2003, Porter faced the personal tragedy of his father’s death.

Professional career
Porter went undrafted in 2006 but signed with the Houston Texans. He spent time on the practice squad, joined the active roster late in his rookie season, and spent most of the year as a third-string quarterback. In spring 2007, he played for the Cologne Centurions in NFL Europe and was released by the Texans in August 2007. He then joined the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad in September 2007.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats (CFL)
On May 14, 2008, Porter signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL. He started as the third-string quarterback, moved to the second string after an injury to Casey Printers, and made his first CFL start on September 27, 2008. His second start, a 429-yard, five-touchdown performance with rushing yards, earned him CFL Offensive Player of the Week and helped the Ti-Cats beat the Montreal Alouettes. Porter remained with Hamilton as a backup in 2010–2011, and in 2011 led the CFL in rushing touchdowns with nine. He was released by the Tiger-Cats on January 15, 2013, at his request.

Montreal Alouettes (CFL)
Porter signed a three-year deal with the Montreal Alouettes on January 21, 2013. In the 2013 preseason he completed 10 of 26 passes for 191 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, but he was released on June 21, 2013.

Later career
In 2019 Porter became the vice president for North America at Pico – Get Personal, a role he left in January 2022.
