The Limiñanas are a French rock duo from Cabestany, formed in 2009 by Lionel and Marie Limiñana. They met in high school and spent years in other bands, selling records, and organizing shows in Perpignan before starting The Limiñanas.

They first drew attention after posting two tracks on Myspace, Im dead and Migas 2000, which helped them sign with indie labels Trouble In Mind and HoZac. In the early years they were more popular in the United States than in France.

In 2010, their track Down Underground was used in Gossip Girl, boosting their profile. In 2015 they released a joint album with Pascal Comelade and signed with Because Music, who reissued their work in Europe. In 2016 Mojo invited them to cover The Kinks’ Two Sisters with Anton Newcombe.

Their 2018 album Shadow People, produced in Berlin by Anton Newcombe, widened their audience; Rock & Folk put them on the cover and Canal+ named Shadow People album of the week. In 2019, Migas 2000 was featured in Netflix’s Russian Doll. They also worked with Emmanuelle Seigner and Newcombe in the group L'Épée on the album Diabolique.

From 2021 their music has been released by Berreto Music, with European distribution by Because Music. In 2022 they released La Musique, a new track with Areski Belkacem, later included on the Electrified compilation.
