The Glenn T. Seaborg Medal began in 1987. UCLA’s Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry presents it to honor people who have made outstanding scientific contributions in chemistry or biochemistry. The award is named after Nobel Prize–winning chemist Glenn T. Seaborg, a UCLA alumnus. It is given each year by an executive committee of the department.
