The Jungle Woman is a 1926 Australian adventure drama directed by Frank Hurley. It stars Eric Bransby Williams as Martin South, with Lillian Douglas as Eleanor and Jameson Thomas as George Mardyke.

The story follows Martin South leading a gold-hunting expedition into Dutch New Guinea. His supposed friend Mardyke betrays him to pursue Eleanor, Martin’s fiancée. While Martin is left for dead, a native girl named Hurana helps him escape and he is cared for by her. Hurana falls in love with him but dies after being bitten by a snake. Martin returns to civilization just in time to rescue Eleanor from Mardyke.

Hurley shot part of the film on Thursday Island, back-to-back with his other project, The Hound of the Deep. He had planned to film Jungle Woman in Papua, but the government refused, so filming took place at Merauke in Dutch New Guinea. The Jungle Woman was released after The Hound of the Deep and was a popular, profitable success in Australia and Britain.
