Delaware is a Mid-Atlantic state in the United States. The Delaware Symphony Orchestra is the state's largest group of professional musicians and is more than seventy years old; it grew from the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra. The Delaware Music Festival is a major event. Other musical institutions include OperaDelaware, the Music School of Delaware, and the School of Contemporary Music. The state also hosts big annual festivals such as the Firefly Music Festival and The Big Barrel Country Music Festival at the Dover International Speedway. Delaware’s state song is "Our Delaware," with words by George B. Hynson and Donn Devine and music by Will M. S. Brown. Recently, blues music has been growing in popularity in the state.
