Thomas J. Henderson (activist)
Thomas J. Henderson (2 March 1931 – 14 February 2005) was an American activist and business manager. He was born in Winona, Minnesota, and studied at Amherst College before earning BS and MS degrees from MIT. Henderson worked in construction and became CEO of Guy F. Atkinson Co. He helped with major projects such as Boston’s Big Dig and the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum. He also led several organizations, serving as president of the local PFLAG chapter, chairman of the Pacific School of Religion, and national chairman of the YMCA. His wife, Mitzi Henderson, was the national president of PFLAG in the early 1990s.
