The Confessions of Mycroft Holmes: A Paper Chase is a mystery novel by Marcel Theroux, first published in 2001. In the United Kingdom it appeared in 2002 under the title The Paperchase. The story follows Damien March, an Anglo-American journalist who inherits a run-down mansion in the United States after his uncle Patrick dies. While living there, he finds several short stories about Mycroft Holmes, which push him to uncover secrets about his own family—his father, mother, and uncle. The book won the Somerset Maugham Award in 2002.
