LING VR
LING VR is a line of virtual reality headsets from Beijing started in 2014. It has two product lines: BAI and HEI.
BAI is a smartphone-based VR headset, similar to Google Cardboard or Samsung Gear VR. A phone fits inside the headset and a Bluetooth controller is used for inputs. BAI launched in May 2015 and was funded on Taobao. In July 2015, BAI got an upgrade called BAI 1S. The upgrade added anti-fogging, three-way interpupillary distance adjustment, better suitability for glasses, an improved headband buckle, and a white finish. BAI 1S MK1s is white with a 90-degree field of view. The Ling Controller uses Bluetooth 3.0 and works with BAI and BAI 1S for multi‑dimensional game control and Ling Cinema. It includes buttons A, B, Return, Menu, Joystick, and Volume and runs on two AAA batteries.
HEI is an all-in-one headset with its own processor, display, and controller. It was planned for release by the end of 2015. Specs include a CPU (Allwinner A80 / Magny-Cours at 2 GHz), a PowerVR G6230 GPU at 600 MHz, 4 GB of memory, and 32 GB of storage.
Ling World is a VR app store for Android that provides many VR games and resources and connects with Ling Cinema.
Ling Cinema is a panoramic VR media player for Android. It requires an OpenGL ES 2.0-capable phone and offers three viewing modes: Home Theater, IMAX, and Free View. Interaction is controlled by head tracking and pressing the A button on the Bluetooth controller.
Ling OS is a set of SDK tools from LING based on Android to help develop VR apps.
