The Army-Navy Game is the 20th episode of M*A*S*H's first season. It originally aired February 25, 1973 (with a repeat on September 9, 1973). The episode was co-written by cast member McLean Stevenson, who plays Lt. Col. Henry Blake.
Plot:
In the 4077th, excitement runs high over the Army-Navy football game, and many soldiers bet on the outcome. As the game begins, the camp is attacked by the enemy, causing damage and injuries. A bomb lands in the compound but does not detonate, sparking panic. Blake spends time trying to track who dropped the bomb, but others are more focused on the game. He learns the bomb was dropped by the CIA and sends Hawkeye and Trapper to defuse it. Their attempt uses poorly written instructions and they accidentally start the timer. The bomb explodes, scattering hundreds of propaganda leaflets into the air. After things settle, Father Mulcahy wins the football pool by having bet Navy.
