Thang, also called Dhothang or Thanga Chathang, is a small village in the Leh district of Ladakh, India. It lies in Nubra tehsil within the Turtuk block, in the historic Chorbat region of Baltistan. The village is near the Line of Control with Pakistan, about 2.5 kilometers away, and is close to Frano in Gilgit-Baltistan, with which it is considered twin. Thang was taken from Pakistan during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 and became part of India after the war. The population is mostly Balti. In the 2011 census, Thang had 16 households and 103 residents; about 63% of people aged 7 and above could read and write.
