Tessel is a small commune in northwestern France, in the Normandy region. It is part of the Calvados department, the Bayeux arrondissement, and the Thue et Mue canton, within the Seulles Terre Mer intercommunal structure. The town covers about 15.5 square kilometers. In 2023, 243 people lived there, giving a population density of about 44 residents per square kilometer. Elevation ranges from 79 to 122 meters above sea level. The postal codes are 14684 and 14250, and the coordinates are 49.1533°N, 0.5731°W. Time zone is CET (UTC+1) and CEST (UTC+2) in summer. The mayor for 2020–2026 is Alain Paysant.
