Ters (river)
The Ters (Kyrgyz: Терс, Russian: Терс) is a river in the Ala-Buka District of Kyrgyzstan’s Jalal-Abad Region. It rises on the northern slopes of the Chatkal Range and flows into the Chatkal River. The river is about 40 km long and drains a basin of about 540 square kilometers. It is fed mainly by snow and rain, with some springs. Average discharge is about 8.8 cubic meters per second, with a maximum of 67.6 m3/s and a minimum of 0.3 m3/s. Water from the Ters flows downstream through the Chatkal, Chirchiq, and Syr Darya to the North Aral Sea.
