Teretia Teinaki
Teretia Teinaki, born 23 January 2002 on Rarotonga, is a Cook Islands footballer who plays as a defender. She started playing football at age 10, first with Takuvaine FC and then Tupapa Maraerenga FC in 2018. While studying at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand, she joined Manukau United FC. In 2021 she was named an OFC women’s football ambassador.
Teinaki has represented the Cook Islands at different levels: the national under-17 team in the 2017 OFC U-16 Championship, the senior team at the 2018 OFC Women's Nations Cup, the 2019 Pacific Games, and the 2022 OFC Women's Nations Cup. In 2024 she joined the Cook Islands Football Association as an administrator to help grow women’s football. In 2025 she and Penina Katuke were selected to study for the OFC’s Player Development Diploma Programme. As part of this work, she helped set up the Cook Islands' first futsal league and planned a walking futsal league.
