Terdal
Terdal is a town in Bagalkot district, Karnataka, India. It lies at about 16.5°N and 75.05°E and sits around 536 meters above sea level. The town is governed by a Town Municipal Council, and Kannada is the official language.
As of the 2011 census, Terdal had about 26,150 residents, with a roughly equal number of men and women. The literacy rate is 54% (63% for men and 44% for women). About 14% of residents are children under six years old.
Most people here work in farming. The main crops are sugarcane, maize, barley, soybean, and turmeric.
A notable historic site is the Shree Allam Prabhu Devaru Brahanmath. In 1123 A.D., a major road connected Terdal with Halasi. In 1821, Terdal was part of the Sangli state, a princely state that is now in Maharashtra.
