Tengku Hassan Tengku Omar
Datuk Tengku Hassan Tengku Omar is a Malaysian politician from Terengganu. He served in the Terengganu State Executive Council (EXCO) from May 2018 to August 2023, holding the portfolio of Trade, Industry, Regional Development and Administrative Welfare. He was the Terengganu State Legislative Assembly member for Ladang from May 2013 to August 2023. He represents the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), which has been part of the Perikatan Nasional coalition since 2020.
Born on January 1, 1951 in Kerteh, Terengganu, he studied economics at the University of Malaya and district administration at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. Before his EXCO and assembly service, he held numerous civil service positions in Terengganu, including Director of Lands and Mines (PTG), State Financial Officer, and Director of the Terengganu Economic Planning Unit (UPEN), among others. He has also chaired organizations such as A&W Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, and the Terengganu Safety Training Center, and served as Executive Director of the Entrepreneur Development Foundation (YPU).
He is married to Hajjah Fatimah Bt Chik (deceased) and Hajjah Aida Bt Tengah, and they have four sons and two daughters.
