Temnothorax longispinosus
A small ant in the Temnothorax genus. It lives mainly in forests from the eastern United States to eastern Canada and into British Columbia. Like other Temnothorax ants, it has small body protrusions near the gaster and petiole. It is about 2–2.5 mm long. It nests in pre-formed openings in leaf litter, and its nesting sites can change with the seasons.
