Taylor Henderson
Taylor James Henderson is an Australian singer and songwriter from Ceres, Victoria. He was born on 23 March 1993. He rose to fame after finishing third on Australia’s Got Talent in 2010. In 2013 he was the runner-up on The X Factor Australia, which led to a contract with Sony Music Australia.
His self-titled debut album, released in November 2013, started at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart and went platinum. The lead single, “Borrow My Heart,” also reached number one on the ARIA Singles Chart and went double platinum.
In 2014 he released Burnt Letters, which also debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart and went gold. The album included the top-five hit “When You Were Mine.” He followed with an acoustic EP, The Acoustic Sessions, and continued touring.
Taylor later released a new single, “Light Up the Dark,” for the Spin Out soundtrack and began working on a third album, One More Minute, which faced delays. In 2018 he announced he would be an independent artist and released “Love Somebody” after a period away from the spotlight. He promoted his Moving On tour in 2019.
Personal life: Henderson has Marcus Gunn Jaw-winking Syndrome. He has an older sister, Bridey, and a younger sister, Gemma; his parents, Sonja and Cameron, are divorced. He grew up playing guitar, a skill taught by his father. He attended Kardinia International College, graduating in 2011. He cites influences such as Matt Corby, Michael Jackson, John Mayer, James Morrison, Jason Mraz, Ed Sheeran and Justin Timberlake.
