Take the Money & Run (TV series)
Take the Money & Run is an American reality game show that aired on ABC in 2011. In each episode, contestants try to hide a briefcase with $100,000 somewhere in the United States. They have one hour to conceal the case, using an SUV and a cell phone. After the hour, they are taken into custody and kept apart for 48 hours while professional detectives try to locate the case.
The detectives receive GPS data, phone records, and receipts to help them track the contestants. If they find the case within 48 hours, they win the $100,000; if they don’t, the contestants win the money.
The show was produced by Profiles Television Productions and Jerry Bruckheimer Television, and distributed in the United States by Horizon Alternative Television. It ran for 1 season with 6 episodes. Executive producers included Jerry Bruckheimer, Bertram van Munster, Jonathan Littman, Elise Doganieri, and Philip Morrow. The series was directed by Bertram van Munster, presented by Zen Gesner, and featured interrogators Paul Bishop and Mary Hanlon-Stone. Music was composed by David Vanacore. It received mixed reviews, with Metacritic giving it 56 out of 100.
