Tōgō, Aichi
Tōgō is a town in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, just east of Nagoya. It covers about 18 square kilometers and has around 44,000 residents. The town sits near the center of Aichi and is known for golf courses, including the Nagoya Golf Club’s Wago Course, which hosts The Crowns tournament.
The climate is hot and humid in summer and mild in winter. The average yearly temperature is about 15.7°C, with about 1,593 mm of rainfall each year and September as the wettest month. Average highs reach around 28°C in August, and average lows drop to about 4°C in January.
Historically, Morowa and Haruki villages formed the area in 1889, merged to become the village of Tōgō in 1906, and were raised to town status in 1970.
Economically, Tōgō is a regional commercial center with some light manufacturing, and many residents commute to Nagoya.
Education-wise, there are six public elementary schools, three public junior high schools, one public high school, and one private high school.
