Swimming at the 1980 Summer Olympics – Women's 200 metre backstroke
At the 1980 Summer Olympics, the women's 200 metre backstroke was held on 27 July at the Swimming Pool in the Olimpiysky Sports Complex in Moscow. Twenty-one swimmers from 13 nations competed. Rica Reinisch of East Germany won the gold and set a world record with 2:11.77. Silver went to Cornelia Polit (East Germany) and bronze to Birgit Treiber (East Germany).
