Sveinn Arnason
Sveinn Arnason (died 1683) was an Icelandic man executed for witchcraft. He was the last person executed for witchcraft in Iceland. Between 1604 and 1720, Iceland had about 120 witch trials; 22 people were executed, with the last execution in 1683. Arnason was accused of causing illness in the wife of the dean Sigurdur Jonsson, and he was burned at the stake. Klemus Bjarnason was condemned for sorcery in 1692, but his execution never happened.
