Duhra is a village in Jalandhar district, Punjab, India. It lies about 24 kilometres north of Jalandhar city and 166 kilometres from the state capital Chandigarh. It is governed by a sarpanch as part of India’s Panchayati raj system.

History
The village was founded in the 18th century by a warrior and athlete named Duhaar. As the Mughal Empire weakened, Sikh leaders formed the Dal Khalsa. Duhaar was invited to Alawalpur to take part in a kabaddi competition against the Nawab’s son. He won the match and was rewarded with land and a noble title. With 500 acres, he founded the village of Duhre near Alawalpur. His brother Dollu received land nearby, and the two villages became known as Dolike-Duhre. Most people in Duhra are descendants of Baba Duhaar, and the village is home to many Jat Sikhs. There are also a few Jat families in the area who are not part of the Duhra lineage. The village has been known for soccer since the 1950s.

Traditionally, farming was the main occupation, with other trades such as blacksmiths, carpenters, weavers, tailors, potters, cobblers and musicians, though some of these have disappeared over time. Many people now migrate to cities or abroad for work. The village has modern amenities like electricity, telephone service, sewerage, television, bus services and paved roads.
