Streetz-n-Young Deuces (SNYD) is an American hip-hop duo from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, made up of Mark Strong and Rudy Strong. They lead the EMP Gang and are known for songs like “Mad Flavor” and “So Fresh” that appeared on the AND1 DVD series.

They started making music as kids and were inspired by artists such as Jay-Z, DMX, and Method Man & Redman. In 2008 they released the mixtape We Want In Vol. 2, which got them attention in The Source’s Unsigned Hype and in Rago Magazine in the UK. The single “So Fresh” was featured on the AND1 DVD. The mixtape sold over 15,000 copies in the following year.

Their next mixtape, Money Marathon, aimed for more radio appeal. It earned them reviews in Ozone Magazine and Hip-Hop Weekly and caught the eye of Aphilliates Music Group. In 2009 they teamed with DJ Head Debiase and released two more mixtapes, Straight Drop Muzik 1 & 2, which were widely circulated online.

SNYD won several awards, including Up and Coming Artist of The Year at the Get Em’ Magazine Awards and Best Indy Group at the Southern Entertainment Awards. They also got a sponsorship from Crunk Energy Drink.

In 2011 they released Next Day Air, hosted by Shade 45’s DJ Averi Minor and sponsored by RubyHornet.com. The project featured artists like Mickey Factz and Mysonne and helped them perform at many colleges and at SXSW. OnMilwaukee.com even listed it as a top project to look forward to in 2012.

They later worked with Karmaloop on songs and videos, including “Trouble,” which increased their national visibility. They gained attention from Sway Calloway, performed at SXSW again, and shared stages with MTV hosts.

In 2016 Sway’s Universe sponsored and presented their project The 8. Burgie Streetz released the first solo project from SNYD, God’s Hands, which received praise for its lyricism and style. A year later, Young Deuces released My Unapologetic Black Thoughts, a socially aware album with spoken word. Sways Universe called it the most “Zoetic Album of 2018.”
