Stone Tapes is an independent record label, a music collective, and an imprint of Joyful Noise Recordings curated by Yonatan Gat. It started in 2022 as a branch of Joyful Noise's artist-in-residence program and grew from conversations around the Medicine Singers LP, which became Stone Tapes' debut release.

As the label released music and began touring, members described their approach as "End of World Music" or "Scorched Earth Music." They aim for a more collective, inclusive approach that respects tradition while pushing new sounds, moving beyond traditional World Music.

A New York Times feature in 2022 highlighted a shift among Indigenous artists toward a bolder, experimental direction. Early Stone Tapes releases include Maalem Hassan BenJaafar, Mamady Kouyaté, Yonatan Gat's American Quartet, and the Israeli punk band Monotonix. The label operates in the United States and Israel, with roots in Indianapolis, Indiana, and New York City; the official site is stonetapes.com.
