Stadio Giuseppe Grezar
Stadio Giuseppe Grezar is a multi-use stadium in Trieste, Italy. It opened in 1932 as Stadio Littorio, with a capacity of 8,000 and a grass playing surface. The stadium is owned and operated by U.S. Triestina Calcio and was mainly used for Triestina matches. It hosted a 1934 FIFA World Cup match between Czechoslovakia and Romania. In 1943 it was renamed Stadio di Valmaura, and in 1967 it received its current name to honor Giuseppe Grezar, a Trieste native who played for Grande Torino and died in the 1949 Superga disaster. In 1992 it was replaced by the nearby Stadio Nereo Rocco for major events, but Stadio Grezar remains open as a minor athletics venue.
