St. Edward Central Catholic High School (Elgin, Illinois)
St. Edward Central Catholic High School is a private Roman Catholic high school in Elgin, Illinois, within the Diocese of Rockford. Founded in 1941 by the Adrian Dominican Sisters, it is named after St. Edward the Confessor and in honor of Bishop Edward Francis Hoban. The school serves grades 9–12 and is coeducational. As of 2023, about 209 students attend.
The school colors are green and gold, and the mascot is Johnny Greenwave. Teams are called The Mighty Green Wave and compete in the Chicagoland Christian Conference. St. Edward Central Catholic is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The principal and superintendent is Annmarie Dufelmeier. Tuition is $5,668.
