Master Keaton is a Japanese anime based on the manga by Hokusei Katsushika, Naoki Urasawa, and Takashi Nagasaki. It was produced by Madhouse, Nippon TV, Shogakukan, and VAP, directed by Masayuki Kojima, with Tatsuhiko Urahata as series composer, Kitarō Kōsaka on character design, and Kuniaki Haishima composing the music. It aired on Nippon TV from October 6, 1998, to March 30, 1999. The show originally had 24 episodes, plus 15 original video episodes, totaling 39. The series is narrated by Keaton Yamada. It follows Taichi Hiraga-Keaton, a freelance insurance investigator who travels the world to solve cases, using his archaeology studies at Oxford and his survival and combat training in the Special Air Service. The opening theme is "Railtown" by Kuniaki Haishima. Ending themes: "Eternal Wind" (episodes 1–13) by Blüe, "Tameiki" (episodes 14–26) by Kneuklid Romance, and "From Beginning" (episodes 27–39) by Haishima. For the 2007 rebroadcast, endings changed to "Tsuki to Kimi to Boku no Kankei" by Kneuklid Romance (episodes 1–13) and "Eber" by Blüe (episodes 14–24). In North America, Pioneer Entertainment (later Geneon) licensed the anime and OVAs, with an English dub by The Ocean Group. Eight DVDs were released from June 10, 2003, to August 10, 2004.
