Sophie Villeneuve
Sophie Villeneuve (born November 6, 1969, in Mulhouse, France) is a French cross-country skier who competed mainly in the 1990s. She took part in World Cup seasons from 1990 to 1999, with 94 individual starts and 18 team starts. She never won a World Cup race and earned one team podium, with her best overall World Cup ranking being 14th in 1998.
Villeneuve appeared in three Winter Olympics. In 1992 in Albertville, she helped France to a fifth-place finish in the 4 × 5 km relay. Her best individual Olympic result was ninth in the 15 km at Lillehammer in 1994. Her best World Championships result was ninth in the 15 km at Trondheim in 1997. Her top World Cup finish was fourth in an individual sprint in Italy in 1997. She won one Continental Cup race, a 10 km event in Italy in 1992. She also competed in the women's cross-country mountain biking event at the 2000 Summer Olympics.
