Slovenia competed at the 2005 Mediterranean Games in Almería, Spain. The team had 159 athletes (98 men and 61 women) who participated in events across athletics, swimming, judo, archery, sailing, boxing, canoeing, karate, rowing, bowls, table tennis, tennis, and more. Slovenia finished 8th in the medals table with 10 gold, 8 silver and 17 bronze medals (35 total). The country’s appearances at the Mediterranean Games began in 1993; previously, athletes from the region competed for Yugoslavia (1951–1991).
